- Tutorial Introduction
When I finally got my Hive/PeakD account and Hive Keychain wallet all set up, I thought there was just one simple task left to do. Put some precious HIVE into the HIVE keychain wallet! It turned out to be a more research intensive process than I had originally thought, but at the end of the day I was able to successfully complete this task. Before going into the details, I would first like to appreciate a comment by @t3kme on a PeakD post linked below. If I hadn't discovered that comment, I wouldn't have known how transfer HIVE from Bittrex (and this tutorial wouldn't have been possible).

- Testing The Transfer Process First
Once you have made your purchase of HIVE from Bittrex, make sure that you note down how much HIVE you purchased and how much HIVE is in your Hive Keychain wallet. Next, go to your account "Holdings". On a PC/MAC web browser, this is the located on the top right-hand corner of the Bittrex page. Look for your HIVE holdings and click "Withdraw". There will be a pop-up that will display a "memo" field, an "address" field, and an "amount" field.
Take a deep breath, because this is actually the critical moment!
Do not input anything into the memo field. In the address field, input the username of your HIVE account WITHOUT THE (@) SYMBOL. Afterwards, put a reasonably small fraction of the HIVE you purchased into the amount field. Then, click "Withdraw".
- The Waiting Game
Allow five to ten minutes to pass in order for the blockchain transactions and confirmations to complete. Then, login to your Hive Keychain Wallet and check your HIVE balance to make sure that it was updated. If you already have your Hive Keychain Wallet open, click the "HISTORY" button at the bottom right of the screen and return back to the main screen to see if it refreshed the HIVE balance with the right amount. Or you can close and re-open the Hive Keychain Wallet to refresh the screen.
- Doing It Again (with Confidence!)
If the process above worked for you, then you can repeat the transfer process using a higher transfer value (or going all-in and transferring all your HIVE from Bittrex to the Hive Keychain Wallet).
Please note that although this process may have worked for me, this tutorial was made on 2021/10/29 and the process/screen layout may change in the future. You can follow the process above at your own risk. I am not a crypto or financial advisor. I am just recounting my thoughts and experiences on how I was able to transfer HIVE into my HIVE Keychain Wallet.
