I missed Hive Power up day but that's OK because I will power up soon. I decided to also post a burn post each month as a way to make a statement. There are many reasons one might want to decline a post payout. Doing so will share 100% of the rewards with curators (including you if you vote) making a more even distribution. You can also set beneficiaries to receive a percentage of your author reward using peakd.com, and add countdown timers too. The reasons for doing this, could be explored if someone has any ideas.
To burn a post however means to destroy the coins forever. It is not something I take lightly and there are others who have created furnaces either using posts or actual code to destroy coins, to potentially increase the value of the rest of the circulating coins. I think this deserves more discussion and I am burning this post today to bring this up. Why would you burn a post and what would you say? Lets call this a campfire tonight.
