I know loads are doing this on Hive, and I've no intention of doing this sort of thing regularly, but I thought it might be a bit of fun to look at some statistics, given I'm currently ranked 7221 with regards to reputation on HiveBuzz. I suspect that this data means very little or nothing in the grand scheme of things, but it's my time to waste, Isn't it? 🤣
Now I hold my hand up. I have no idea if this data is based purely on @hivebuzz members or is drawn from Hive as a whole? Hopefully, it's from the Hive blockchain, as that makes it slightly more relevant.
As @steevc loves to point out to me: "There's a lot of factors that make up the reputation." and this first chart demonstrates that!
Drilling down to the top 10, we can see that apart from three accounts, @haejin, @steemcleaners and @tarazkp, there are not many posts compared to other accounts but let's carry on for the minute and look at Posts.
We've lost our High Reputation accounts and the old adage of "Less is more." may be true? There is also another [Sales] catchphrase "Throw enough mud at the wall eventually some will stick!" that springs to mind, chuck out enough posts (Stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap), and the author is bound to make a few cents here and there? Or are they just prolific producers of Pulp Fiction?
Far be it from me to spread accusations, but I suspect -8.3 Rep indicates something dodgy going on? But boy, they're prolific!
Now we're getting into the juicy stuff! But wait, the top 10 are [all] bots!

So this is probably more relevant data given these are replies to comments which means there is at least some human interaction unless, of course, @themarkymark is, in fact, an AI? To be fair, I've seen him called a lot of things but never an AI. 🙊
If like @steevc, you're in it [Hive] for the Community and the Friendships then this is possibly the best area for you to concentrate on. It indicates (But doesn't guarantee) that if you comment on these peoples posts, they may well strike up a conversation with you unless you vote Tory like me. 🤣 🤣 🤣
The only two hoomans I know in the top 10 are themarkymark and @papa-pepper, and I follow those, obviously. 😍
These are the accounts most voted for, pretty mid-range reputations as you can see, so being voted for clearly isn't a massive factor in terms of Rep which personally I find very, very strange it's like being voted for by your class and yet in reality not many actually like you very much?
Understand what's going on here. Most of these are bots that [supposedly] do good works on Hive, namely cheetah, for example. I do have issues with it, though. It used to be, and for all I know still is, almost impossible to get off its blacklist, and I have seen a few people say that cheetah has erroneously blacklisted people. I'm not saying that is true or false; however, having worked in IT for over 20 years, I can assure you software and algorithms can make mistakes and that bots are not infallible.
Finally, the one you've all been waiting for: Who votes the most! Now I'm not sure what criteria this is based on? It might be literal in terms of upvoting, so Mrs Miggins could, in fact, go round upvoting EVERYTHING but with a 0% value. Qudos for getting seven million votes, but if you're in it for the money, you're gonna be bitterly disappointed.
And here we see a prolific member pops up again, papa-pepper along with another individual that I expected to see more of @acidyo
If this totally unscientific analysis is anything to go by. You should be following @haejin, @steemitboard and @papa-pepper as they seem to be the most consistent across the board. having said that, many other factors are missing, like Who has the most Money, Power and not forgetting Delegations. I've not seen any data on who delegates and who is top of that list?
