It's the day I can reveal our Roadmap!
And here is the first part:
If you want to know what the game is about:
we have just read today something written about EXODE by a Hive known member.
A reminder:
Alpha is made for early backers who wants to play early and have access to collectible content which will be unavailable in Beta. They also get the highest values, the best offers, the priority tests and feedback.
But they don't have the easiest play: they play the game when it needs perfection or even completion. We are a small team, sometimes we will be late. Sometimes because we found something needs an upgrade. Sometimes because we need time to fix a mistake. This means alpha needs a bit of patience.
However, by joining early, you guarantee yourself a place in the testing room with us; as pictured in this roadmap. (early backers are eligible for tests)
So, what is "late" for others, is actually "playing on time with us" for you! as you can play!
Also we are doing our best to release first playable contents as early as possible and most importantly with specific rewards, that you can sell, and to open the "testroom" as soon as possible too. The first things will need upgrades, but we'll improve everything step by step.
How to get starters and packs:
A limited number of alpha packs will be issued.
First presale on March 29th will have at least 50 % of all issued packs.
This will guarantee more packs at 5 USD. (means more players!)
- Presale March 29th. Entry packs at 5 USD.
- Price increase April 12th. Entry packs at 8 USD.
- Second price increase April 26th. Entry packs at 10+ USD.
Whatever results come from presale, EXODE will follow the exact same plan. The necessary resources to develop the first playable content are "already on deck".
However the presale is extremely important to make our features better and our team stronger. It will make the project bigger and able to reach people outside the current community.
How to play:
Enter presale while there are packs left!
If you are an early backer, you may be eligible for early tests which begin mid-April.
Otherwise the game opens doors for the Evacuation Scene by April 30th (in one month)
Play Evacuation Scene, once released, to acquire Specific Rewards which will not be available later!
Game will be complete by adding Colony Management features a few weeks later (see second part below).
The Evacuation Scene gameplay is where you can play your cards and evacuation actions with a lot of atmosphere and intensity. This scene, guys, is so intense it puts me in tears when I work on it!
However I don't want you to play this until you are bored. And I want these rewards to keep value.
Some cards will be on cooldown after being played for an evacuation. This means that to take the most benefits from this, if you like the content, you could apply more cards, or better strategy to obtain more success.
I have to finalize the drops but I can confirm some specific Alpha Epic and Legendary cards (unique to this event) will be there waiting for you. And you will be able to sell these specific Alpha rewards.
The only thing I have to ask is to allow me enough time to make something great. I gave you dates thanks to the current team and estimates, but if it needs a few more days, I will use them to improve the results, the balance, and drops. And I will take the time required for it.
The second good news though, as mentioned above, is that there will also be a test early access, simulating the scene, available to the earliest alpha backers. (number to decide, but the 300+ earliest backers should get it so I think all our dedicated fans will get it!)
How to sell:
As I mentioned in our Game Manifesto, guaranteeing liquidity is one of EXODE ambitions.
- Market opens "around" April 10th (10 days after presale). You can sell packs.
- Card opening event between April 20-25th. You can sell cards.
- After early May (9th) you are the only provider of alpha packs and cards.
There will be a fully autonomous market site.
Almost all our NFTs will be there.
Pack NFTs are: starters, boosters, special crew packs (such as droids), other special packs (contracts, permits, etc.). You will see all about that in a next post.
Card NFTs are: all launch assets received when opening packs: Origin cards, Ship cards, Officer cards, crew cards, etc.
Hive-engine will also receive a FT token (eXode FUEL) but acquiring it will not be necessary during the first steps of alpha (you'll receive virtual fuel while we adjust and balance the system).
Then, once the system is mature enough, you will produce eXode FUEL and produce your own fuel supplies. At that point, fuel produced can also be sold to hive-engine. Your best options are to have a mature colony ready by that time.

EXODE looks to last a very long time. I come from the traditional indie game development and we have the skills to build a Steam EXE and expand the community. More about Beta and future plans will be revealed in the next months.
