We are finally on the people's blockchain, where we can all chip in, to make the dream we have all held collectively for decentralization come to life. Building from the ground up is not going to be easy, but I feel we have already gone through the worst part as a community, and we have emerged triumphantly. Now, it's time to build.
We have on so many events in the past talked about features we would like to see on a social blockchain, and seeing that we get a fresh start with a team that is willing to put in the work,I feel it's best we make our desires known on time before changes begin start to take place. On this post, I would like to share some of the features I feel would make my user experience so much more fun and seamless.
1. Resteem with Comment Option..
Maybe I've been using Twitter a little too much lately, but I find this feature quite effective. It's a nice way to give feedback on a topic while also sharing it with your followers on your own blog. The way I envision it is, it's like having a blog post on top of another blog post. I think it would be such a great feature that would really help with engagement. It would also perhaps encourage us to share other people's content some more.
2. Direct Messaging
How many times have we talked about this really?
Every good social media platform should have a great way for its users to interact directly. Going back and forth between the platform and discord is not the most effective form of communication. It is working for now since the numbers are not that high, but if we are to scale up, we seriously need to think about implementing this feature. I never understood why some developers said it would be hard to do so on a blockhain, but perhaps now is as good a time for someone to help me understand why it has not been rolled out yet.
3. Easier On-Boarding Process
Sorry guys, but I still feel the on-boarding process onto the blockchain is still a little hard for the average internet user. It may seem easy to us, but it's really not. If the average user cannot create an account by themselves without feeling frustrated, then it's really not the best on-boarding experience. I know this is something a lot of other blockchain platforms are struggling with as well, but perhaps we can be the ones to crack it eventually.
