Earlier today I almost found myself walking into a bad situation here on the Hive writing platform. Of course, this is something that I would only have myself to blame, because it was a situation that can easily be avoided. In fact, I'm going to educate you on how to do so.
Not too long ago I took part in a discussion in the comments section of someone else's article here on this writing platform. A British man didn't like what I had to say, and he got offended insofar as he went onto my PEAKD channel and down-voted one of my articles. If I had only waited until all of my latest articles were over seven days old, he could have done nothing to retaliate against me.
Here's the name of the game. Your articles on this writing platform stop earning money after 7 days. Therefore, the best thing for you to do whenever you have something you want to share with someone on an article that is not your own is to wait until all of your articles are over 7 days old. That way nothing can come back and bite you when you least expect it, unless, of course, you completely agree with them.
Now, if you publish an article on your PEAKD channel or Hive channel and someone doesn't like it, you cannot prevent that person from down-voting it. However, by not inviting trouble into your digital space, you can cut your losses.
I don't normally down-vote people's articles, unless that person is abusing the platform in some way. In fact, I haven't ever down-voted anyone's articles ever since I first joined the Hive writing platform. Of course, that's just me. Everyone is a little different.
Because I publish a number of controversial articles, I realize that there are going to be people who disagree with me; and that's fine. We all have to take the bitter with the sweet.
I'm more concerned about others attacking my grammar and spelling in any of my articles than I am about them attacking the controversial contents of my articles. If I'm not catching typographical errors and other types of mistakes in my articles, then I'm not really producing quality material for others to read.
Perhaps someone who disagrees with the contents of any of my articles might decide to attack my spelling and grammar in them. I won't give them the opportunity, because I check every article of mine for any kind of errors and I utilize all the tools that are available for me to do so.
I'm more hypervigilant of grammar Nazis than I am of detractors. They know how to make everyone's life miserable.
If you have published articles on this writing platform that are not yet more than 7 days old and you come across an article you want to comment about, type up your future post on your Microsoft Word application and save it to be posted later on once those 7 days have passed. It's the best way to play it safe.
Unfortunately, there are some people who absolutely love to down-vote other people's articles simply because the authors of them disagreed with them. Don't let them ruin your experience here on the Hive writing platform.
Now, if you want to post a comment in the comments section of an article that one of your followers published and that same follower is completely on board with everything you've published here on this writing platform, then I say that you go for it. You've developed a level of trust with that individual, so you know they're not going to be looking to sabotage your earnings on your articles that are fewer than 7 days old.
The Blurt writing platform doesn't allow anyone to down-vote anything. The problem is that you eventually have to be willing to fork out money in order to stay active on that writing platform. The Hive writing platform will never force you into that situation. Here you only spend the money you want to spend on whatever you want to purchase.
