Airdrops are always good promotion. First of all, it may make some people want to buy the token in order to participate, thus adding demand and increasing price. But that's just the beginning. Having projects choose to airdrop on a particular blockchain is proof of the existence, scale and value of its community. Why else would a project choose to give away tokens to users on that chain in particular?
Furthermore, it adds demand beyond just the time leading up to the airdrop. Showing that projects do indeed want to airdrop to Hive token holders may make people speculate that if that is successful in terms of driving adoption of the new prject(s), then others may want to do airdrops there too, leading to more future demand and price growth.
Additionally, both SPK and Ragnarok could prove to become big success stories. Should either succeed in growing a significant userbase, then that will add value to Hive. So promoting the airdrop is more than just hoping that people will want to get involved in that particular instance. It is also showcasing that there are cool things happening on Hive, that there is growth, and opportunity.
So let's make the most of it!
