The mark of the beast as described in Revelation is something people who worship the Beast choose. Seems like a crazy thing to do choosing to worship the enemy of God and yet that is what Jesus showed to John to show to his servants.
He also showed him some of the reasons why they make this choice. The god of this world continues to pull his greatest trick... convincing the world he doesn’t exist. The inhabitants of the world anyways. And only for now.

The children of God are being forced out into the open while the earth dwellers let their salvation boil like frogs.
