As the world gets more and more virtual, so does human interactions. In the last almost 5 years on the platform, I have come across so many people who otherwise without this platform I would have never known them or come across them. In a way it is good...right? I have been enjoying meeting new people, interacting with them, knowing each other's thoughts.
So many people have been here with me right from the beginning of my journey and it feels good to connect with them in an unknown space. One thing I like in this world is you can express yourself freely here without the fear of being judged. I will not say that I have ditched FB completely but yes, my activity there is very minimal, once in a way I connect there. I enjoy this space, for many reasons. Yes, for the earnings for my efforts is there but other than that, connecting with so many people, knowing their likes, dislikes, understanding different cultures, being a part of communities, gaining so much knowledge, all of it is here.
Not only that, also coming to an understanding of problems occurring in different part of the world. This is a place where one can also harness their psychological skills. When there are some controversial matters coming up here, you can see how different people react in different ways, some fight it out, some stay quiet, some laugh it out, some get outrageous, all different types of behavior come out here.
One thing that I have learned in this space is, to not take anything personally. This place is like an Ocean where there all types of fishes, some Whales and some small ones. Everyone is trying to survive here making a safe haven for themselves in their own manner, and also a place of survival of the fittest.
For my own self, while I have tried to be actively involved, I have also made it a point to be neutral, because sitting at my desk it is not easy for me to understand opposite persons emotions and feelings that he or she goes through while writing or commenting on something. I cannot judge someone by just reading their words, so I take it objectively and not very personally on that person. Not all days of our lives are same, we have our ups and downs so we do not know what moment of life that person is in at that point of time.
Other thing I like about this place is, people act real here, unlike other social media platforms where we only see all glamorous pictures and good side of life. I have seen people crying out their heart in pain here, expressing their sorrow, accepting their dark sides, owning up on their actions and being so real. I myself have also done that, on many occasions when I have been low, I have freely expressed myself here.
When I started, I never knew I would come this far and now I do not know if I will ever quit. It's a journey, and there will be some point of break somewhere I do understand that but when I do not know, so till then I will enjoy my journey and keeping being with everyone around here.
