I'm just so thrilled where this whole Steem journey and now Hive journey have taken me. It's been a blast to be part of an awesome community where people generally care about what it is they are seeing. Spam comments and invitations to get furious about other people's stupidity is at a real low on Hive and I see it as ideal really. We don't all see things the same way, we all have different lives that brought us to this point, but in the end the majority of the active people on here seem to agree through their actions that it's better to pull in the same direction with those you vibe with, and leave those who piss you off to just do their thing.
What a contrast to the social media dinosaurs where everybody seems to have an opinion and also the time to leave a pile of poo in the comments pertaining to issues they obviously don't have the faintest grasp about. Here on Hive it seems self-understood that wasting time violently arguing with people of a different mindset is just not worth it. It's such a huge step forward in humanity's way to communicate and share, and we might be setting a template here.
Disagreements yes, back and forth yes, and the occasional insults and display of dissonance and short tempers yes... but it isn't the standard here, as it is on youtube and facebook - at least in my experience.
And for that I am so thankful. I feel thankful as well for all the BS Steem has done to make us move here, it was in a way our final exam and it seems we passed with flying colors.
Will Hive stay this way forever? The more people join the more likely it is that quality will suffer again. But as with a good dancefloor, it is impeccable to lead by example, to create great works of art, communication, crafts and value on Hive so that newcomers will want to follow in those footsteps, orienting themselves on the bar that has been set high by Hive's communites. And I feel we well on the way...
The more bridges we will build the more we will create something of value here, and the more we will be able to withstand any future attempts of network coercion or attacks from the outside.
I have been writing for way too long and reading way too little, and so in order to make new meaningful connections I do want to read more on Hive again and clear up my feed, throwing out old followings that aren't inspiring me anymore simply because of where I am at in life. There is so much value to be found on Hive, it amazes me every day.
We may just be at the lows of it all in terms of price,it feels like the best time to start doing awesome things on here and inspire one another. In for the long term!
Let us build something great together! Each in our unique way!
