Just moments ago.. I had an idea.

Shock horror.. me... having an idea.. surely the world is about to end now..

Anyways...

The idea

I just tweeted x'd about not having enough space to have a second server machine.

Having everything in my house.. there ain't much space to do a lot. Like.. I really want to own a rack cabinet and fill it with servers.. That sounds fun to me.. also expensive but fun...

The thought stems from wanting redo my setup once again. I'd need to reinstall the host OS to try something new, perhaps get away from these OS's designed for running VMs and go for a more manual approach.

My server works.. It's running really well and honestly it's fine as is. but I know it could be set up a whole lot better but with it currently running my witness I honestly don't want to have a massive amount of downtime while I tinker with Host OS and various server settings.

So I thought.. maybe I should push hard for witness votes to get more income to pay for more server hardware.. Sounds like a good idea.

But doesn't solve the space issue.. Which got me thinking.. what if.. I just rented an office or something locally to house my servers...

Could work.. probably quite expensive though.. also.. are there even any offices around here?

Oh the pains of living in a small-ish town...

I mean.. the upsides would be. I'd have a place to walk to and work at.. it's get me out the house.. It'd kinda feel like I actually have a job.. Something to do away from home. But it's a lot of money for rent.. then the energy bills and then there's insurance and insuring everything is super secure.. because I know for a fact that someone will try to do something stupid.

That's kinda one of the things I want to do. Get more knowledgeable with server admin, have proper rack mounted servers that aren't 15 years old.. But it's need to pay for itself..

Oh oh... yeah.. the ultimate goal.. A server rack. running a hive witness, api node, full complement of SPK network things. VSC and other side chains as well as the new hive frontend software, block explorer and the likes...

I want to run it all. That sounds like fun. But it's not doable atm. My server is a little too messy VM and resource allocation wise. Storage space is limited and space for HDDs is also very limited.. case is too small...

Well.. At least this is here to remind me that is can be a goal to work towards..
