I gave my friend @whangster79 some vector files I converted from .png so he can etch them into some Brazilian hardwood. I gave him some cutoffs of unused deck wood and I am really impressed how well the design came out.
These are rough cuts, I plan on cleaning up the edges and take some more pictures of how these came out.
I sent him the needed files on Discord and waited for him to have time to start working on the project. I checked up on how it was coming along and got these great pictures of the progress.
Usually @whangster79 uses MDF which is a different kind of wood. It's more economical and designs look great on it as well. But for these etches he just used the hardwood cutoffs I provided him with.
It takes most of the night for the laser to work it's way across the board making this design. But I think the wait is well worth it.
I'll do a follow up post when I get my hands on the etched boards. Need to pick them up from my friend. But in the mean time I wanted to share photos of how they look.
