The News
Not much to report on the prices. $HIVE is hovering around 1000 Satoshis, but that means it has gained some value recently. 'The other coin' still refuses to die, but a few people keep milking it.
I sometimes post my Wordle results on Threads and someone asked me if there was some version that paid crypto. That reminded me of Kryptogamers. They have various games that include some casino gambling ones. I had not looked it in a while. I am not sure what you can win, but it could be another way to earn.
Sam Bankman-Fried of FTX has been found guilty of various financial crimes. I have not read all the details of this case, but it seems he was not so interested in the uses of crypto, but just about the money to be made from it. I think that is actually a common way of thinking. It can lead to a lot of negative press for what could be a useful technology.
In better news the Hive borehole project have opened more water supplies in Ghana. That is the sort of publicity we need. @mcsamm and @collinz are driving this project.
I heard about this book and it is real. Mastodon has grown massively, especially thanks to the chaos on Twitter. That gets the attention of publishers who see a market for a book. That growth seems to have happened largely from word of mouth and without a marketing organisation. I wonder why Hive cannot do something similar. It is down to each of us to spread the word about it.
Friday Follows
I have done these posts most weeks since I joined this blockchain over seven years ago. I hope it has some value, but if I can get good people more followers then is it worth it. I usually spread some of the post rewards.
- @oripenalver just posted in the Drumming community. She has played with lots of groups in Venezuela and just joined an all female rock group.
- @beanz is one of the Hive old guard, but she has not been active recently. It is good to see her back.
- @bleepcoin is also back with stories of his childhood as a Brit in LA. I met him some time ago at some London events.
- @edje had some ideas about how Hive could provide a forum for a music site. Actually it could be integrated into all sorts of sites. It would remove the need to host all the data. There may already be tools to embed Hive.
Events
- I plan to attend Barcamp London next weekend. I will talk to people about Hive there. At least one Hiver said they might go. I believe the ticket shop has closed now.
- @alessandrawhite is visiting the UK and is looking to organise something.
- @detlev is running a meetup in Aachen, Germany this month.
- @buzzparty report on Hive events around the world.

I shall be running the script for my monthly #BritList post tomorrow. I fear that numbers will be down again. If you have any friends who have stopped using their Hive accounts then perhaps you can drop a hint that it could be worth revisiting the platform. Even if they just follow a voting trail it can earn them something and help spread the rewards.
