This post is for the 2023 Hive Highlight Challenge. We can feature anything from this year.
I want to highlight the Hive borehole project that has brought fresh water to communities in Ghana. @mcsamm and @collinz have been behind this.
I think too much coverage of cryptocurrency covers how it makes some well off people richer, but from the start I could see that this blockchain could empower people who might struggle just to get by. Drinking water is something most of us take for granted, but there are still plenty of people in the world who have to make a real effort to get it every day. This project will make many more aware of the Hive name. I would hope that some of them can get online and be part of the community. That opens up possibilities for a local economy using crypto.
Other projects that excited and inspired me include:
- The growing communities in Venezuela and Cuba.
- The Hive rally car driven by @ssekulji that got the brand in front of more eyes.
- The Freechain documentary by @lordbutterfly that I hope to see soon.
- The meetup I organised.
- The fact that Hivefest happened in the Americas. I could not get there, but it allowed some people to get involved.
I love that the community is so diverse. You can follow the people who make your feed interesting and fun. In 2024 I hope to see some growth. People say that the stagnant $HIVE price is an issue, but the fact that you can earn here every day is still radical. You need to make it fun too so that you want to keep logging in.
I will keep on doing what I enjoy. I have made a lot of friends here and I hope to meet up with more of them soon. I may well do another event and will try to get to others.
Hive five!
