Dearest Hivers!
It’s hard to believe we’re already in April—time is flying this year! March was one of the most productive and inspiring months we’ve had in a long time. For the first time in what feels like forever, we spent nearly the entire month at “home” with focused creative energy—and it paid off in a big way.
As we hinted in earlier updates, March was all about laying the foundation for our next big idea: the Story Album and immersive stage show. Since returning from America in December, we’ve quietly been preparing—plotting, dreaming, and building the concept behind the scenes. But last month, it felt like everything began to click. The vision is no longer just an idea—it’s starting to come to life.
We've spent countless hours in the studio, experimenting with new sounds and composing music that follows a detailed story arc. Years of experience with soundtracks, theatrical improvisation, and dance pieces suddenly became a superpower, helping us craft a sonic identity that we’re incredibly proud of. And this is just the beginning—we’re excited to keep evolving and refining the sound in the coming months as the project snowballs into the fully immersive concert experience we know it can become.
We also realized early on that this show is too big to do alone. So we’ve started building a team around us—collaborators who believe in the vision and can help take it to the next level. To do that, we’ve been pouring ideas onto the page and into demo recordings. This part of the process has felt like opening a creative floodgate—and it’s exhilarating!
On top of all that, we’ve been deeply engaged with the dance community here in Dresden, which has brought a whole new layer of inspiration to our work. You may remember our involvement with Floor on Fire and the major event we did at the Dresden Opera House. That experience solidified something we’ve felt for a while now: the concept behind Break the Folk is incredibly powerful. Our connection with The Saxonz has only deepened, and their creative evolution mirrors our own. Like us, they’ve spent the past few years redefining their vision—and now we’re exploring how our futures might intertwine.
We believe Break the Folk and Floor on Fire both have the potential to grow into full-scale theatrical productions—shows we can eventually tour internationally. The energy in the Dresden studio is electric, and we’re surrounded by passionate, hard-working people. We’re excited to see how far we can take it—together.
Next week, we finally hit the road again for a few shows: Berlin, Asendorf, and ELFIA! We’ve missed performing so much, and we can’t wait to be back on stage. We’ll be joined by George Bingham from the UK on drums—some of you might remember him from our shows in the UK last year. He’s been incredible, both on stage and behind the scenes, exchanging new musical ideas for the upcoming show. We have a feeling he might become a more regular part of our touring family this year!
