Today is a pretty special day for me. I would have never thought, on this day in 2017, that I would still be active on here, 8 years in the future.
Even though Hive didn't even exist yet, back then ( I started out on Steemit and moved over to Hive as soon as it forked away from Steemit ), it feels like I have been on Hive all this time.
Almost 3000 days.
In that time frame, I have written over a thousand posts and over 16000 comments. I handed out over 55000 upvotes, trying my best to lift people's spirits and make them smile, wherever and whenever I could.
I have also made friends all over the world. And as the cherry on the cake, I found the love of my life, @clareartista , who is sitting next to me, in bed, making the final adjustments to a dress she is about to sell and writing a post for needleworkmonday.
Hive has changed my life in so many ways. There's so much to be grateful for. The platform and especially the energy and positive feedback of the people on here have helped me through some tough times, especially in the days when I (still) posted (almost) daily, for semi therapeutic reasons.
Also, in the times that the token was more valuable, it helped me out financially and gave me the courage to dive into the deep/go all-in with crypto and writing and to make this my main focus.
I would almost forget that I even (self) published two books during my time on here, namely The Life of Hypersensitivosaurus ( with a notorious low amount of 10 copies printed ), back in 2022, and Hypersensitivosaurus and Cold Turkey, published in 2023. I printed 200 copies of the latter and sent signed copies all over the world to Hive friends. There's still a couple of dozen copies left of this cute little book.
And did you know that I moved countries twice, since I started out on here? First from The Netherlands to Portugal, in 2018, and now to Italy, to live with Clare. Although I basically moved in with her, last September, on the day we first met in person.
I could go on and on ( and I actually might as I am considering to add to this post in the next couple of days ) but right now I am too excited to share this milestone with you all. My fingers are itching to post, after having had to lurk in the shadows for over a month ( due to distractions and 3 weeks of traveling ).
P.S. According to Hivebuzz I have joined Hive 'height' years ago which sounds like a higher number/even more impressive than 8 years.
