Ayam goreng, leafy greens, and papaya slices
Tilapia in curry sauce, green beans, and bihun noodles
Spicy chicken flakes, bakwan, and vegetables
Ayam andaliman, curried vegetables, fried tempeh, and banana
Ayam manis (chicken in sweet soy sauce), mixed vegetables, banana, and mie goreng (fried noodles)
As I hadn't set up my kitchen in my room yet, I decided to order lunch catering for schooldays. Saves me time and resources as well. And more importantly, I get to enjoy a variety of Indonesian homemade meals.
My caterer is a parent of one of our students, and she was kind enough to include me on her list right away. She is even considerate enough to send me less spicy food as per my request. I love spicy food, but because of hyperacidity, I have to watch my diet.
We mostly have chicken or fish recipes in these lunchboxes. Sometimes, we have some beef, but it's expensive. But I don't mind. The fish and chicken recipes are all tasty. Plus, the lightly seasoned vegetables allow me to enjoy the flavour of each bite.
With these lunchboxes, I get to have at least one balanced meal each school day, and it is only IDR 18,000 each, which is about Php 65.00. It's a good and delicious deal, right? That's why I decided to continue ordering even if I have already set up my kitchen in my room.
Today's a holiday in our school, so I bought lunch at the food court. Can't wait for tomorrow's school lunch. :)
Disclaimer: I am not familiar with the local names of all the recipes here, but I can assure you that they are all tasty. Enak sekali! And if I ever put the wrong name in the caption, please inform me so I may correct it. Thanks.
