Hi everyone! I'm Jan, the developer of the Hive Debit Project and I want to share with you in this post, what I have done for HiveDebit, which are the next steps, and how we are simplifying payments with the Tap and Pay technology.
Is Working Right Now (With the BETA V2)
One of the most important things for me, is to show you that this is working, and this is not just a dream or something that is going to take a lot of time to see how it works, because you already saw some videos and posts about the version 1, and if you don't, I'll show you.

This version was cool, you were able to:
- Make Transactions from HBD to HBD - Hive to Hive.
- Create your Own Card.
- Get a proof of payment.
But this was not perfect, so we had some errors on it like:
- Only in Spanish.
- You can't make another payment without refreshing the website.
- 2 Taps 2 Payments.
- UX/UI not so pretty and sometimes with bugs in Android.
But why am I telling you the errors of this? This post not was to convince you about using HiveDebit?
Yes it is Sir, something that is valuable for me is the Honesty as Billy Joel said in a Song, that's why I'm telling you what happened with that version and why I made a new one.
The Beta Version 2
I need to figure out a good name for this, so I'll put name of the things that I like on the versions.
This version is really improved that improved needs to be in bold.
So what's new with this version and why you should start using it?
1. Yo no hablo Español.
If you are reading this in English maybe it is beacause you only speak English, so the first version was really hard to use if you don't speak Spanish, that's why now we have 3 different languages in HiveDebit.
Spanish - English - Portuguese
Why Portuguese? Because we have HiveDebit users as @boeltermc and some others really cool that are using this in Brazil.
2. Black or White
Let's be honest, 90% of the people that are reading this in their preferred app/website for Hive posts have activated the Dark Mode, because white is really white and you are getting blind.
That's why you can change the Color Mode in HiveDebit.
3. Hive Keychain
In the first version of Hive Debit you were able to log in with Keychain but that was for nothing, just for fun, but now with this new version, you are able to Log In, and meanwhile we are working in the new feature you can't use it at all, but you can go right now to HiveDebit.com Store Mode and you'll find that you need Hive Keychain connected, once you connect Hive Keychain you can manage your store, you can have waitress that are gonna receive tips and it's gonna be one tap, 2 payments, the principal receipt of your food, and the tip for the waitress, you can add your items so you don't need to do a lot of calculations and then the client just tap and pay.
BUT Don't use it yet please, right now you can go and see it, but it's not finished yet but it will be finished before Talent Land, so no worries, in a few days you are going to be able to manage your store.

4. My Card, My Funds, My Pin
You can create your OWN CARD!
As we said in our proposal, we are not here for money, if money was our first important thing, I would be selling you a HiveDebit card for 50USD, but this is something that is not important for us, that's why we told you and we did it, you can go and get an NFC Tag 215-216 and create your own card.
Can I use other types of Tags?
Well, the short answer is yes, but I recommend an NFC Tag 215-216, but if you have an NFC Ring or things like that you can try.
And extra important thing is that you can use a PIN, you can set a PIN like 1234, and when you tap to pay in HiveDebit, HiveDebit is gonna ask for your PIN, don't share it, don't show it.
Also we have Daily MAX and Transaction MAX, this is to set how much money you want to spend per day, and how many per transaction (this is also in process but you can define it when you create your card, just put 0 if you want to spend all your money in pancakes and be a No Fucking Coins Guy).
What you need for this?
- Username
- Active Key
- A PIN (No required)
- Set Limits (No required)
- Android Phone (No required at all)
Once you have all this things you can create your HiveDebit card, but if you want a printed and cool one, find us in Talent Land, Guadalajara. (The cards are going to be free so don't be shy if you are there, specially @josepimpo)
5. Just try it.
If you already created a HiveDebit card and you have an Android phone, just make a transaction with it, is very easy, very cool and at the end you can verify the transaction through HiveBlocks.
