Hey folks,
A few days back I grabbed a pack of 30 blank NFC plastic cards off Amazon! Couldn’t resist because they were dirt‑cheap and I’ve been itching to experiment. Hive-Debit is finally hitting that exciting “almost‑ready” stage, and @starkerz has been flooding his feed from Guatemala with demos and step‑by‑step videos on how to get the most out of the cards. After we chatted on the Hive Discord right after the last Hive Thrive Talk, I figured it was the perfect excuse to dive in myself.
The cool part: you can flash these cards directly through hivedebit.com, so there’s no extra hardware drama. Over the next few days I’ll tinker until I’ve got my very first card encoded and ready to spend—my trial run will be buying something from @rivalzzz and paying in HBD.
Once I’ve knocked out a handful of real‑world transactions and burned through a couple more cards, I’ll put together a short how‑to so anyone who’s curious can program their own NFC tag or card in no time. For now, though, I need to get back to translating that browser extension we all use every day into German.
Catch you soon!
