Introduction
The Bull or Bear Web3 event was an incredible opportunity to connect with influencers and experts in the Web3 space. Held on the beach at the Baybayin Hub in La Union, Philippines, the atmosphere was both energetic and surreal, fostering engaging discussions on the future of Web3 projects. I had the privilege of speaking at the event to promote Hive and @dbuzz, sharing insights on crypto safety, Web3 social media ownership, and the potential of the Hive ecosystem for developers.
Preparing for the Speech
To prepare for my speech, I created a list of topics I wanted to address. These included the importance of safely storing crypto in cold wallets, an introduction to DBuzz and its role in Web3 social media ownership, and the unique features of the Hive ecosystem that make it ideal for Web3 developers. I emphasized the famous saying "not your keys, not your crypto" to stress the importance of securely storing one's digital assets.
Key Takeaways from the Event
My speech generated a lot of interest in Hive and DBuzz, particularly in the Web3 gaming space. For example, I had an insightful conversation with Luis Buenaventura, the Country Manager of Yield Guild Games (YGG), about their Splinterlands community – the number one Web3 game on Hive and a leader in the Web3 gaming industry. I also spoke with Bernadette Misa from Playdex, who was excited to see Hive becoming the leading platform for Web3 games.
One of the most promising discussions I had at the event was with Mark Nunez from GCrypto. We explored the possibility of listing Hive on their exchange, which would potentially expose Hive to millions of GCash users in the Philippines. While Mark mentioned that they would slowly add new coins to their platform, he expressed interest in learning more about Hive and considering it for a future listing.
During the event, I had the chance to interact with several influential individuals, such as Tony Rebamonte who covered the event via video, and Juliane's Journal who interviewed me. I was also briefly interviewed by Coin Geek.
The Beachside Atmosphere
The beach setting of the Bull or Bear event contributed to a high-energy atmosphere. With palm trees providing shade and tables positioned around a central stage, the venue was perfect for fostering connections and lively conversations. As the sun set, the after party kicked off, featuring free drinks, music, and ample opportunities for networking and sharing ideas.

He highlighted that many local celebrities, including Gabbi Garcia and other GMA actors, are already on Stanible. The platform aims to cater not only to celebrities but also to anyone with a fanbase.
Yield Guild Games (YGG) Country Manager Luis Buenaventura II shared his insights into the world of Web3 gaming and the opportunities it presents for Filipinos. Through their Web3 Metaversity, YGG offers a free academy to teach people how to earn a living in the Web3 space, emphasizing the importance of asking tough questions and fostering healthy debates.

The Bull or Bear Web3 event provided an excellent platform for promoting Hive and DBuzz, as well as engaging with other Web3 enthusiasts and experts.
