Hive Engine can be a little much for someone new. I know I'm not an expert at it, but, this tip just might help you.
Everything is traded against hive or in terms of hive.
If you would like to follow along directly on the hive engine site
Here is hive trading against or paired with bitcoin. It's labeled as swap.btc
Just think of your hive as swap.hive at hive engine its makes it easier to understand
In this example, if I press the buy swap.btc button at this instant I'd buy some bitcoin
But how good of a deal am I getting is it in the ballpark?
This is the quick tip. The price being offered is 107160.25329 hive to one bitcoin.
To see how good of a deal this is just quickly multiply the price of hive by 107160.25329
At this time hive is listed as .4454
107160.25329 X .4454= 47,729.00 per bitcoin
So ouch! Bitcoin is selling for 39,828.00 at the time of writing this.
There is mark up of his bitcoin of about 7,000.00 USD and 7/39= about 18%
Doesn't feel like a good deal to me :(
Maybe this gives us a ballpark of what deal we're getting at hive engine. Prices and deals are always changing.
If someone has an idea to make this quick tip better, by all means, place it in comments.
Thanks for your time
