I am very interested to listen to all the speakers involved in this event.
I am very happy that I registered early and was able to get setup for this event. I am very interested to see the presentations and hear from these users, and others too. I am a follower of many of these users listed above. There have been meetups over the past few years that I wish I could have attended, if they were not so far away. Instead locally I have had my own meetups and introduced many friends to Hive, and every week try to share with someone new. I have also created my own virtual spaces and been livestreaming from the "metaverse" since we are all online now.
Some of the things I like to think about are how technology has changed the world, and how technology has impacted my life. I think about how society has been evolving and how from my own perspective we are both adapting to emerging possibilities, while also being pulled backward by the entropy of traditions. It is hard to conceive living in the world many of us were born in, as it lacked innovations like wifi and smartphones to say the least. The speed of information has been accelerating my entire life as I have learned to use a pencil and a typewriter and a computer, which has lead to personal smartphones and now virtual reality. Technology offers us the most incredible tools to improve our lives, and should help us to enhance the base layer reality where we physically live. A cell phone could be useful in case you need to call for emergency, but spending an entire day playing flappy bird or looking at ads on Facebook can be very counter productive.
So here I stand on the edge of oblivion, and I know in just a few short years this could be a photorealistic NFT avatar that acts as an agent on my behalf going around taking selfies for instagram or trades DeFi coins based on my consumer habits. The last few years though I have been doing a deep dive, going back to the coding of my youth, and trying to improve my own skills.
Bitcoin has given us all motivation and incentive to realize the ideas that inspired us in our youth, and I see a decentralized datalayer like Hive as a literal www3 with pages and the economic system built right in. The absolute potential of Hive is perhaps overlooked by most, but it really seems to me that this type of landscape for the new web is needed, whether you like LiteCoin or PancakeSwap; HIVE is about doing the internet over again with the payment channels built in.
I won't be presenting anything at HiveFest this year, but I wanted to write a bit about how I see things before this event starts. I really want to hear the Hive Minds who are presenting. I have been lucky enough to follow along with some of these exciting projects and even to talk with a few also.
We all see Hive from our own perspective given our life experiences, interests, skills and curiosities. The diversity we leverage is strength as we each add value and find ways to innovate.
