Whenever I think about it, I use Peakd.com to claim my Account Creation Tokens. You can claim a single token or multiple tokens depending on the amount of Resource Credits you have (RC’s). I always do the maximum. This is great for onboarding friends or family members. Using a token here and a token there doesn’t come close to consuming the amount of tokens I have. Overtime these can stack up and just sit there in your Hive wallet collecting dust.

My wife’s cousin tried to create an account through Ecency a few weeks back…
She said that she had been trying on and on for a few weeks. Then I noticed (while reading a few posts and comments) they weren’t the only ones with the lack of ACT’s. From what I gather things are a little better now for Exency but what about other main front ends onboarding new users? Now, I’m not gonna go attempt to make an account because I could be taking away a possible account of a new user. Several times I have seen people mentioning this issue with Hive.blog & Peakd.com. I believe they both use Hiveonboarding?? Correct me if I am wrong. For all I know the issue is somewhat fixed but I believe it’s an issue that will keep happening.
This is a big issue considering most Hive users want to see mass adoption of Hive. Well how can that happen if there isn’t a simple way to create an account. Never mind the simple part for now… just to create a dang account.

Let me see, Hive users can transfer Hive, HBD, and Hive Power(through delegation) but not Account Creation Tokens… I wonder how many ACT’s are just sitting in Hive Wallets collecting dust. Useless… Between my accounts I have close to 150. I couldn’t imagine how many some big whale accounts have or even Orca accounts. Is there a way to check this? A way to see how many ACT’s are just sitting around doing nothing in user’s wallats, instead of helping with this onboarding issue?
I believe the ability to transfer ACTs would help eliminate the issue of front ends running out of them. Helping to keep a steady flow of new users to the blockchain. Instead of turning them away due to lack of ACTs available on a certain few front ends.
Imagine being talked to by someone about Hive, you get all excited to try something new. Get away from the centralized crap and take ownership of your account. Then you get stiff-armed when trying to simply create an account.

Would you keep coming back day after day hoping to an account? Doubt it… Potential new user gone…

I would imagine there are folks out there that are gonna want some financial incentive to give up their Account Creation Tokens. (Even though they are just sitting there useless) Me, I don’t care one way or the other. Mine are just collecting dust anyway, so if I can help with the onboarding issue I will. If there is to be some sort financial incentive for ACTs, it shouldn’t allow for gaming of the ACT system. How??? I don’t know, I am just a Lineman seeing an issue that needs fixed.
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong with any of the info above. This is just something I observed over the past little bit. The complexity of How Hive works is one thing but creating a new account should not be an issue in my mind. Now, I am no Hive-know-it-all, so be easy on me :wink:wink
