Hello Hives community! I hope you're doing well. Firstly, I would like to introduce myself. I am Joshua, turned 24, currently living in the Northern part of Cebu. As I grow up, life becomes harder each day, but this doesn't make me sway because I know that those are just challenges that I have to overcome for a brighter future ahead.
I am currently solving the unanswered question of when did my life started to go wrong? I'm in my adulthood but still relying on my parents and still reluctant to get out of my SafeZone. Despite not being the perfect son, I have a goal in life and am trying my very best to succeed so that I can help my family's current predicament. So, I am here and want to share my wonderful experiences and exciting adventures I have encountered in life.
My first travel experience was when I visited my late grandfather's hometown in Negros Occidental. It was a quick escapade away from the city, where I met new friends and experienced a different lifestyle compared to life in the city. Life there is a bit difficult due to the shortage of water and the lack of cell signal, but my visit there was never boring because of the quiet breeze and beautiful scenery.
I climbed hills instead of walking on smokey roads, saw rivers abundant with fishes instead of garbage, went to bed early instead of going out to parties, woke up by the crowing of roosters instead of the screeching engines, saw kids playing outdoor games instead of holding gadgets, and witnessed trees dancing instead of huge walls of malls. Nature called my name for a good relaxation and to relieve myself from stress and problems.
I learned many things during my stay in Negros such as washing clothes without the help of washing machine, fetching water, and cooking without the help of gas stoves. When morning cames the first thing I do there is to take a bath in a public area called TABAY where drinkable water is provided by nature, Many people go there to do laundries and fetch water for their homes.
During afternoon I go to the basketball court to exercise and stretch my muscles by playing the sports I love with my newly known friends and when evening comes I just look at the starry sky in our roof and listening to old musics.
I also visited a place called PAITAN a few kilometers away from my grandpa's home where monkeys lived freely.
They weren't imprisoned, but instead interacted and coexisted with humans. You could see countless harmless monkeys everywhere: jumping on trees, teasing each other, happily eating the food given to them, and most of all, walking freely on rocky roads without worrying that anyone may harm them. A safe haven for them. However, one must still be careful with their belongings because those monkeys will take whatever you're holding, whether it be gadgets, food, or accessories.
It was just a quick visit, but everything was worth it. A great masterpiece in every way, a wonderful place that everyone who visits can have good relaxation and peace of mind. I'm sorry to tell you that I didn't get a hold of any pictures during my visit in PAITAN, but maybe soon when I revisit Negros Occidental, I will surely take lots of photos to show you the beauty of this glamorous place. I can't wait to adore it once again and share this scenic and quiet place with you guys. So long!
My hobbies
One of my hobbies is cooking. Cooking makes me happy when I see the smiles of my brothers and sisters whenever they like the food that I cook. In this way, I can express my love for my family. My father taught me how to cook when I was a kid and taught me that the secret of cooking is putting all your love, effort, and doing your very best to make your dish more appetizing.
Note: This photo was uploaded on my teammate's account.
I love playing basketball. I'm not an expert yet, but I am determined to work harder than anyone to achieve greater heights in the sports I love the most, just like the former NBA legend Kobe Bryant once said, 'Great things come from hard work and ppperseverance.'
I also love reading. I read books sometimes in my free time instead of daydreaming. I really like reading instead of watching videos because I believe that through reading, I can hone my skills in speaking English fluently.
Reason for joining hive
I joined Hive because I really like the idea of sharing my adventures and experiences through virtual reality, where I can fully express my thoughts and emotions. I'm not really good at social interactions, so maybe, just maybe, with the help of this wonderful platform, I can further improve my social skills.
How you get to know hive
Special greetings to my subject teacher, @naymhapz, in Personal Development for introducing this to us. She encourages every Grade 12 student to join Hive to further enhance our knowledge about writing and reading. She taught us the rules and regulations and inspired us that through writing, it can help us in our future careers. And special thanks to my brother for also helping me whenever I have questions about Hive. Seeing them happy with what they're doing makes me want to indulge even more about Hive!
