Don't get too emotionally attached to just one stock, one digital currency, one class of financial assets. Instead keep the mind open for potential opportunities. Diversify instead of having all of your eggs in one basket. I am loving the cryptocurrency trading lately but also see opportunities to make money and diversify with stocks, forex and even gold and silver. Robinhood is a stock trading and investing service that does not charge any commission, nor require a minimum dollar balance. Great for making some smaller trades (or even larger ones, actually). However, ETrade allows you access to many stocks not available via Robinhood, such as some smaller over the counter stocks. Plus ETrade allows you to short sell stocks. A little better execution also. And if you don't have $25,000 to avoid the restrictions of the Pattern Day Trader rule for stocks, it would be good to have both--you could do three day trades at each for a total of six day trades per five day period.
The forex currency trading market is open 24 hours (except on weekends) so many folks with different schedules can trade at times when the stock market is closed. There are many different currency pairs available. I tend to focus on the EUR/USD pair the most--large liquidity and keeps my focus from being spread too thin. A good place to learn more is the free "school" for forex over at www.babypips.com and I have found forex.com to have a good service for trading. You don't need much money to start and they even have free demo accounts available for those who want to get used to trading and using their platform with pretend money.
And of course, cryptocurrency is the new kid on the block. You can trade and invest 24-7. Coinbase allows you to get started in this arena with fiat money from your checking account. You can buy Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash at this place and then transfer to another exchange that offers more digital currency (cryptocurrency) choices. Bittrex and Poloniex are two well-known exchanges if you want to diversify into other coins such as Cardano, Nexus, Stellar Lumens, ReddCoin, Verge, Burst, Golem, Civic, VertCoin, Digibyte, and more.
There is also an app called Coinseed that lets you do "roundups"--- rounds up any purchase you make with your checking account/debit card to the next dollar. Once your roundups get to the $5 mark, it is invested into a basket of cryptocurrencies that you pick from among Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Monero, Litecoin and ZCash. You can also deposit additional money into Coinseed as well. However, any time you want to withdraw money, they convert it back to cash to put into your checking account.
