For the last few days I’ve spent most of them working on the garden note transcription. It’s been nice not having construction starting at 7AM each day.
I had a new contractor come out and look at the living room floor to see how we can fix it and finish it. He will start Friday afternoon. He can only work in the afternoon, which will be hard for me, as I am pretty much finished by early afternoon. He will do the floor, and finish the barnboard wall and hopefully by then do the woodshed. That’s all I can have him do.
My cleaning helper, aka carpenter helper, has been out a few times and we tackled getting ready to put shelving and lights up. We got the dining room window finished on Tuesday. I have to find a heavy something for that bowed board. We got the heat mats installed and got the timers on the lights and the temp set on the mats. We got a reflector on the center light and on one for the roundtop window.
Then we started on the roundtop window. The new heat mat had come in so we got that installed. The frame and light we had done last week.
I had to build a light for this window. I had built 4 last year and it took a while to remember how I’d done it. We got 1 nearly done when she had to go. I was too tired to finish it.
The cellar is an awful mess and we had a very hard time finding tools and supplies. We ended up organizing the electrical supplies just to find the wire nuts. So a lot of time was lost there. But I found the heavy rock for the bowed board down there. What a rock was doing in the cellar, I have no idea…
I got some more time on the transcription before I had to go to an appointment.
On Wednesday my general helper will be here and we will do the first seed starting. It’s only 4 trays, but she’s never done it before, so will be slow. I hope we can finish before she goes.
I plan to work on the transcription some more. I got 2020 finished and am now doing the new garden plans from 2021. I built a lot of new gardens last year.
So slowly I am getting caught up and keeping up with new stuff. I still have spots from the covid on my lungs so I won’t be moving at what passes for warp speed around here for another month at least.
It’s lovely pulling the shades up at 6:30AM and not down until 5:45PM. Less than 3 weeks until the Spring Equinox now.
