In between the many chores around the homestead that had to be tended to this weekend I was able to snap a few pictures so I could share with you all. I wish I could have posted more, and I most certainly will be. I spent many grueling hours researching and extensive note taking took place. We got goals people!
I digress. Tending to the chickens was a lot of fun. It's so easy to get caught up working on our computers and phones these days. How lucky are we to be able to take breaks with nature. Living in the woods has brought me a sense of peace that I never had living in the city. When collecting the eggs I made sure to take extra caution before placing my hands in the chicken coop. I made sure to bring a long stick and place it in all corners of the coop to check for predators. We had a snake inside the coop the other week when my husband was gathering eggs. Thankfully no one was hurt, though I can't say the snake had a happy ending.
But it wasn't all work and no play. Jackson and I took the long walk down to our mailbox. Other than getting eaten alive by mosquitoes it was a great way to clear the mind and refocus on the many tasks at hand. As you can see by the time we returned home from our journey Jackson had enough work.
Thankfully the husband unit returned home from his camping trip, and I'm ever so happy to have him back. While I love helping him the the labor side of things around the property. I tend to focus more on the business side of things. I believe that's why we make such a good team. We bring balance to each other and are always learning everyday.
