Hello steemit. I hope everyone has had a beautiful Easter weekend!
I've been trying to get my back garden into a bit better shape, but unfortunately we have only had a day or two that have been dry enough to get outdoors to enjoy it properly.
I managed to get the final brambles up just before good Friday arrived.
Making way for some little yellow wild flowers to pop up.
The snow decided to return again through the night so everything is on hold at the moment.
On the upside of the weekend i managed to bag myself a second hand greenhouse, along with pots and a water butt especially for the greenhouse.
There are some missing pieces of glass, but the greenhouse is standing proud awaiting it's filling of homegrown goodies.
Which brings me to the tomato and strawberry seedlings that started growing last week.
These are the tomato plants.
These are the strawberries, which seem to be progressing a lot slower but i'm hoping i can keep them alive.
We are down to -1 degree in temperature today, but forecast a wopping 13 degrees tomorrow so i should be safe putting things outside to make room for more sowing indoors.
I started a composting heap at the top of the garden but i am not sure if it will need to be contained or left open. I'm hoping to get some palets to make my own container.
I've also invested in a strimmer and extention lead to get rid of the tufty grass and then re-seed with grass and flowers.
I am awaiting an outdoor enclosure to arrive for Rodney the tortoise,to get him out into the open and get some proper sunshine on his shell :-) looking forward to that day.
I will update with my progress and will have more sprouting plants to show too,all being well :-) until then i shall be sowing seeds and incinerating the big pile of brambles i need to rid of.
