This morning was a great time to plant my cold-weather root crops. We are expecting rain for a few days so it was time. My husband top-dressed my double high raised bed with 3-year-old leaf compost and 2-year-old horse manure. I planted Rutabaga, Turnip, Cylindrical Beets, Green Kale, Scarlet Kale, Spinach, Wasabi Raddish, Daikon Raddish, and Golden Globe Turnip.
The green shade cloth will help to keep the rain from pounding my seeds. In a couple of days, I will cover it with white plastic as well. This will help to create a little greenhouse effect.
Above and below are some of the seedlings in my greenhouse waiting for the weather to warm up. Enjoy your gardening my fellow Hive friends.
Until next time, this is Sunscape
