**When was the last time that you wanted to give up but God told you to be
hopeful? **
When life is too unbearable, we tend to think and ask how we can surpass the sufferings we experience. Sometimes, we are tempted to give up and forget that hope is always present. We need to remember that life is always beautiful regardless of whatever circumstances we are in.
In a matter of real life or death situations, when we see our loved one’s suffering from illness, we usually either to share the burdens with them or see them not suffering at all. We ask ourselves how can we help ease the pain?
That is when the question of euthanasia comes in. Euthanasia, or mercy killing, is a way of painlessly ending one’s suffering by stopping what supports a person’s life. But we, as Christians do not practice it because we believe that it is only God who can decide when life should begin and end. He is the God who gives and takes away (Job 1:21). What should be our right posture of heart the moment we encounter this?
H - Have faith in God
Put everything in God’s hands. He gave life and He can take it again. Believe in a God who oversees everything and who will ultimately work things out.
O - Offer everything to God
Do not be anxious about anything but in everything let God know what is in your heart.
P - Prepare for God’s plan to be fulfilled
Whatever happens, God is in control of everything. This life is a gift from God, and
He made this beautiful even from the start
E - Embrace life the way it is
Accept that things will come to an end one day and we cannot stop it. Thus, we need to make our lives worth living
CARE should take place when CURE is distant. Ending one’s life through Euthanasia is never a solution. We need to be physically present to our sick loved ones and cherish every single moment that we have with them-the time that is given
to us by the Lord.
As a challenge: Offer time in praying for the people who need hope and cure.
