Remi (Jenna Ortega) es una joven estudiante que está a punto de entrar a la universidad, por la influencia de sus padres que son abogados, tiene fijación por entrar a Haward, lo cual hace lo posible por ser la mejor estudiante, hija y persona delante de todos, con tal que le permita tener un cup o en dichosa universidad, tiene su vida perfecta planeada, hasta que conoce a Barnes (Percy Hynes) un joven que piensa que la vida tiene sus momentos para hacer cada cosa, que no hay que tomarse todo en serio y hay que vivir disfrutando los momentos que te regala la vida.

Es todo lo opuesto a Remi, pero lo que en realidad necesita, ya que al juntarse ambos aprenderán uno del otro, ya que Barnes le hará ver a Remi lo divertido de la vida, el disfrutar su juventud y entender que si hay que ser responsable pero que todo puede llevar su tiempo y no hay que apresurar las cosas, y en el caso de Remi de la responsabilidad que en su momento algunos tenemos y que no podemos dejar a un lado así por así, es importante llevar las cosas como son y poner límites a ello.

A pesar de sus diferencias comienzan una relación, a lo que los padres de Remi se oponen ya que ven a su niña algo alejada de sus metas y solo desean que ella estudie lo más pronto posible y pueda tener lo que tanto ha soñado, lo cual hace que Remi se salga de control y empieza lo que se diría una etapa de rebeldía, ya que como siempre fue la niña perfecta, la que reprimía todo, simplemente mostrando lo que los demás querían ver, ya no podía estar de esa manera, es ahí cuando la relación de Remi y Barnes tendrá que superar las dificultades que se les presente por las nuevas decisiones que tomen y si su futuro es estar juntos.

Es una historia tranquila, en el que el amor juvenil debe enfrentar ciertos retos para saber si en verdad debe permanecer juntos como pareja, así como entender que en la vida ser perfecto no es todo, hay que también apreciar los momentos para distraerse, para pasarle bien sanamente y darle su tiempo a todo, no quedarse pegado en algo por el simple hecho que otros quieran que sea así, es necesario tener cierta libertad para vivir plenamente.
