😍 I am finally going to HiveFest!
I don't think it has sunk in yet... 🤭 The day I bought the tickets and accommodation, I was like on a mega Hype day 🤩, but then the idea I still had to wait all these days, stunned me and with the IRLW for this year (more below) and daily life took over (for now).
But, I know it will come back (the Hype) again! 😜 And the closer it gets the more excitement I know I will feel. The important part was to secure me going... and that's done... Just need to buy the @hivefest ticket, but that's the easy part.

🧐 Update on ATX projects
For a few months now, I have been trying to get some sort of "new" version of delivering these giveaways, but the reality has been, that free time since 2023 has become fricking hard to manage. And I had to find many compromises to balance life and family.
The result was me doing a lot of "I need to pause this" announcements, to create free space for a "worry-free" mentality on my side of things. That didn't mean I could not get back to things at a later stage, but I had to take it out of my head at least, to feel comfortable with what I was doing.
Having that said, this means I will most likely have to continue with this format for a bit more months (especially with the work I am going to have this and next year). Yes, no progress this month (I will stop saying it, alright! 😅).
Rest assured whenever possible I will dedicate time, and I know this looks like a lame excuse, but it's the only explanation I can provide for now. You can try to harass me on @hivefest for more information if you can! 🤣
Seriously, when possible I will provide more updates. Just wanted to set the scene right for now... to stop repeating myself.
At least I know I can commit to these giveaway posts... that's not going away! Also because I enjoy doing them and it's an opportunity for me to blog about the monthly activity on my end.
😎 But ATX's not just that!
I have other things under the hood being cooked, mostly over the collaboration arena, where others will be receiving my support, to the best of my capability, with always some theme around teaching the community about blockchain (and technology) in general and providing some sort of excitement, and fun!
And that can be interpreted both as something I do on my daily/weekly/whatever basis, or specific projects with specific people on this chain.

It has been a while since I haven't done one, and because this year I am going to HiveFest⁹, this a great occasion to mark the moment. So, stay tuned for a follow-up post where I will announce it. 📦 A journey awaits me...
Not very specific, because I can't be yet. But IRLW has changed quite a lot for me in 2023, and with it the opportunity (hopefully) for the first time in my career to achieve the dream I had, of doing what I always wanted since I arrived in New Zealand some years ago.
And these things (especially in my area) take quite a good time to happen and suck a lot of mental readiness and disposition, especially when you are doing what you really like, trying to change things for the best, bla bla blah... When I can, I will let you know. Hence a bit of why my time has been gradually adapting!
For the ones that don't know me, and in order for the above to (maybe) make some more sense, I work in HPC (High Performance Computing), aka 'very large machines' or as we all used to call it in the past, Supercomputers! These run many types of workloads of diverse natures, usually tailored for research, but not just.
And before you ask, NO, we don't run cryptocurrency miners on it... 🤦♂️ - if one would understand the efficiency of cryptocurrency mining, then those persons would understand why it would not even be profitable on HPC Infrastructure. Even if some dumb idiots tried in the past...
These beasts can go from a few thousand cores using many machines in parallel (connected by high-speed networks) to millions of cores, and obviously lately, also GPUs or as many in this Industry call them, "accelerators". They often have an interesting amount of RAM in total (from Terabytes to Petabytes depending on the type of workloads to address) and from a few hundred kilowatts to several megawatts of power consumption.
And storage wise (my area of proficiency), Petabytes in terms of fast accessible storage (microseconds to milliseconds of access times), and tens to thousands of Petabytes of archive storage, commonly known as Tape (where in some places of the world it will be Exabytes).

Not that I deal with "even near scale" like this IRL, but just for you to check out some examples of the largest Supercomputers around the world, on what we (HPC Engineers) know as the ranking for Supercomputers, the Top500.
