Last Thursday 12th April was significant not only because of the largest Volume surge in Bitcoin and sudden increase in Price of +USD $1000 in 1 hour, possibly heralding a new Bull run, it was also the Launch of Asian Wealth Communities Singapore division of "The Crypto Club" at Post Bar, Fullerton Hotel, Singapore which I had the honor to host as President of "The Crypto Club" alongside of Eric Chua, CEO of Asian Wealth Community. Thank you to all who attended and the many great conversations and fun we had on the night, looking forward to the next Crypto Club Event in Hong Kong Next week - 24th April at Ce La Vi LKF , and the next event in Singapore on 3rd May at the Post bar.

With Singapore becoming the 3rd largest ICO issuer after US and Switzerland in 2017, Asia is seeing an increased interest in all things ICO-Crypto. The Monetary Authority of Singapore’s stand on not banning crypto currencies with clear guidelines for ICOs, has positioned the country ahead of the game in the New Digital Economy 2.0.
To bring more insight into understanding digital assets like crypto-currencies and the digital economy, Asian Wealth Community (AWC) – a non-profit organisation for the regional private wealth community – is studying the technological and economical impact of the new digital asset class.
In catering to its members and those interested in the subject, AWC launched The Crypto Club (TCC) in Hong Kong and Singapore on 21st March and 14th April respectively. The Club aims to be a unique platform to provide education and awareness, discuss trending topics specific to this asset class. In addition, it looks to generating greater awareness and conversation about real game changers and sound investment opportunities by partnering with global leaders of this space.
Heading this group in the capacity of Club President is Mr Perry Barrow who is an avid follower, investor and active player in the ICO space. He is a board member of the AWC and also the Founder and Managing Director of First Global Direct Pte Ltd - Executive Recruitment & FGD Media.
Speaking at the launch event, Perry shared his experiences and insights: “There will always be a need for trusted voices in the investment community. With the likes of Ripple, reducing International FX and payment transactions from days to giving instant value, and CargoX reducing the timeframes and Bill of Lading transfers from a week to seconds using blockchain technology, the current ICO and crypto-currencies markets are showing a latent demand for cutting edge technology solutions.
The use of ICO’s as a funding vehicle over the past few years has seen many companies raise multi-millions in funding. Ethereum and a few others were early adopters who saw 100x growth, set the stage for the traditional and venture capital market to explore this space.”
