I was glad to see we are starting to tell the story on decentralized digital identity, as was posted on the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security Blog earlier today.
"Each of us needs a digital identity we own, one which securely and privately stores all elements of our digital identity. This self-owned identity must be easy to use and give us complete control over how our identity data is accessed and used."
While many enterprises today utilize Azure Active Directory as their cloud identity platform, realizing the power that identity provides, consumers also have similar needs of identity in an increasingly digital world.
For a more detailed description of some of the concepts be sure to check out the The Next Web - Microsoft is developing blockchain tech that lets you manage your digital identity article.
I am biased, since a good portion of my career has centered on identity solutions, but I feel it is a very critical foundation for the connected world, and building upon ideas and concepts such as blockchain technology is a very interesting topic to me.
I am very excited that Microsoft is contributing to the Identity Foundation and helping to build an open source decentralized identity ecosystem and look forward to see where I might be able to contribute as well.
