The Britishers, the East India Company, ruled India for decades and centuries. They are the primary reason why most countries in the world celebrate Independence day. Britishers ruled many countries all over the world. But despite ruling India for so long, they did not rule Nepal. Here's why.

Why was Nepal free from Britishers?

You may think, Britishers didn't just want Nepal. That's not the case, the Britishers wanted Nepal, but there were certain problems that saved Nepal from the rule of the Britishers.

1. **Nepal's Geography: **Nepal is heavily covered by mountains. The Himalayas, the Tallest mountain ranges on Earth, lies here and covers 70% of Nepal's geographic area. Britishers weren't trained to fight in these high mountains and cold environment
2. **The Unity: **At first Nepal was just a bunch of small territories fighting with each other, but then King Prithviraj Shah of Gorkha in Nepal decided to combine all of them and formed the Nepal kingdom. The Gorkha army was extremely powerful when fighting in those high mountains, They also mastered the art of Guerilla warfare.
3. **Fear of china: **By conquering Nepal, Britishers feared sharing borders with China, And at that period of time, China had powerful rulers. So Britishers didn't want to mess with them

These were the Major reasons why Nepal continued to be free of Britishers.
