Only a day before it was announced that all of the 2,000 U.S. troops stationed in Syria would be withdrawn. With the Afghanistan scale down, it now it seems that Trump's purported desire to minimize the United States' troop presence around the globe may be for real. The U.S. currently has more than 14,000 troops in Afghanistan. Half of them are to be withdrawn within the next three weeks.
