James Delingpole (http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/06/23/thirty-years-dirty-tricks-congress-launched-great-global-warming-scare/) marks the 40th anniversary of what is considered the beginning of the global warming craze with the testimony of James Hansen at a senate hearing on June 23, 1988. The event and the manipulation surrounding it (picking up the hottest presumed day of the year and making sure that the room was uncomfortably warm) are desribed in detail in Christopher Booker's "The Real Global Warming Disaster" and Steven Goddard's piece, "Thirty Years of James Hansen's Clown Show." Here are just a couple of Hansen's idiotic predictions from back then: Manhattan will be under water and there will be no ice in the Arctic. It is a sad testimony of our times that charlatans like that are still considered scientists.
