Heiko Maas is the new German foreign minister and a leftie par excellence. As a minister in the previous Merkel coalition with the socialists, he pushed through the Bundestag the obnoxious NetzDG censorship law that has led to Facebook now erasing thousands of posts daily that Merkel doesn't like, mostly stuff critical of her unconstitutional migrants' policies. It should be noted that this could not have happened without Merkel's blessing. Last year while her mike was evidently inadvertently open in New York, she asked Zuckerberger what he intended to do against criticisms of her policies and he reportedly answered that he was working on it (https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/7371/facebook-freedom-of-speech). We now see the fruits of that work in the privatization of political censorship via Facebook, the likes of which Germany has not seen since East Germany and Nazi times. Sooner or later, this blatant politization of the legacy social medias we are observing would lead to their replacement by the likes of decentralized platforms like steemit.com.
