It isn't clear to me yet the exact nature of their relationship. I could speculate, but I need facts. Nonetheless they are the ones making up the new definitions of recession for the Biden administration, and they are being portrayed as nonpartisan and here I will prove that they are not.

The Washington post reported the 8 individuals in the NBER who decides if we are in a recession. So that saved me a lot of headache, especially when when I first saw the connection I wanted to go through everyone on the NBER listing. 8 people. no sweat. In fact quite a few were overtly sloppy at hiding their politics, others perhaps tried to obfuscate their political leanings through a spouse who kept their maiden name. We seen the same with Dr Fauci's wife and her donation to Hillary Clinton. But really, just because a spouse makes a donation, or 500, doesn't mean the other holds the same politics. of the 8 people, there is only one who seems [somewhat] apolitical-I neither seen a political donation from him or his wife. He and a fellow professor published an economic paper in 2014 making political claims favorable to democrats, but attributed it more to outside good/bad luck than leadership. There is another who made a donation to a local candidate, who happened to be a democrat, but a local candidate could be like a personal friend or neighbor-so I don't think it is conclusive of a partisan bias....however she does have a husband who is into RINOS.
So it is time to burst the media bubble on the nber, and declare the mainstream media fake news.
