…so is the very structure of our society. In the council's of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence whether sought or unsought by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of Defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Unfortunately, US Congress is already under the governance of military industrial complex. This week, Congress approved $1.8 billion for three combat ship hulls — that Pentagon didn’t ask!

The Navy initially only asked for a single LCS in its FY 2018 budget request but settled on two after shifting funds from other sources including delaying the purchase of a nuclear reactor for an aircraft carrier overhaul.

At the same time, at least 106 school in Michigan’s largest school district have reported alarmingly high levels of copper and/or lead in their water supplies. With the money given for the unnecessary combat ships, decrepit plumbing, water issues could be fixed 53 times over!

Poor kids… They won’t have clean water, but their great comfort will be to know that multi-millionaire Nancy Pelosi “eat nails” to help poor kids!

But that’s probably what USA needs — more fat Generals and less children. Why should they have more children when the future is war of robots against people, anyway?
