Subject Matter
Write a post explaining how the intelligence cycle can be used in informationwar
- Post must provide an entry level explanation of the intelligence cycle
- Post must provide an entry level explanation of OSINT intelligence gathering
- Post must provide an entry level explanation of how intelligence supports the mission (whatever the mission is...in this post's case, an informationwar operation)
- Post must include a specific example of the subject concept in action; this may be a historical example or a proposed informationwar op that you create an intelligence report for
Purpose
I would like for #informationwar writers to get better at what we do, more persuasive, more logical, more compelling, more able to knock the enemy out of their OODA loops.
I'd also like to be able for us as a community to teach this type of critical thinking to new writers, or to writers that have moved over from other topics to pick up the banner of liberty and are unsure where to start.
In other words, I'd like for some of us to move towards understanding the process and methods, and not simply repost other's IW material (don't get me wrong, that is important, too!)
Judging
...will be solely on my subjective judgement. I reserve the right to not issue a reward in full, or at all, if the entry doesn't meet the above requirements.
I can only promise one prize at this time...If I hit a windfall in the meantime, I may be able to award additional prizes. I'd hate to see multiple winners in the sense of outstanding posts, but then to be able to only reward one writer
What I would like to see (these factors will impress more more than just skin and bones)...
- Good research and references (note, you don't have to read every IW or intel manual that has come across the boards...just enough to give a basic summary of what we're doing)
- References are important for folks to start studying on their own
- An intelligence plan for an informationwar op or campaign that you are planning
- Extra special gold star for doing the above with some mechanism for community contribution to your project (either in intel support, or to the overall plan)
- Use diagrams and infographics that are easy for folks to pick up on
