Stripes are cooler than spots?
I didn't know that the life cycle is so quick: a day after I took the first set of pictures, I noticed that some of the bigger nymphs had anchored their butts to the underside of the leaves. The next day, they had turned orange and wrinkly and this morning, it looks like the beetles are about to emerge:

Really quick! Although the adults also eat aphids, the nymphs are eating machines and they have decimated the aphids on these plants. Now to transfer some to the rose bushes.
