Hello everybody, first i want to introduce myself(ill keep it short dont worry) and than continue with the story.My name is Vjeko and i'm from a small but unbelievably beautiful country called Croatia. I'm 20 years old and this is how my whole life changed in just couple of months.
Yep, you guessed it right. This was me just few months ago. This was the best picture i could find that has my whole body on it. So what happened and what changed? Well i started last october it was a normal day scrolling through reddit on random and i stumble uppon a subreddit called "Keto" and in the next few moments i found out it is a dietary subreddit that is based uppon something called Ketogenic diet.
So my next question was what is Ketogenic diet?
A ketogenic diet (keto) is a very low-carb diet, which turns the body into a fat-burning machine. It has many potential benefits for weight loss, health and performance, but also some potential initial side effects. A keto diet is designed specifically to result in ketosis. It’s possible to measure and adapt to reach optimal ketone levels for health, weight loss, or for physical and mental performance.
So i got interested in the diet and that lifestyle. I had millions of questions. What to do? How to do it? What to eat!? Spent a week scrolling through that subreddit, learning about the diet, watching peoples progress pics and getting motivated. What i needed to do was cut out the carbs from my diet and up the protein and fat intake meaning bye bye junk food, bread, rice,potatoes all sugars sweet treats like candy, brownies etc and drink only water and coffee and that seemed impossible! But hey, who'd knew.
So how did i start?
This picture was taken on the ride home from work on the day i started. It happened really spontaneously. Break time was comming close and usually i would eat something from the work cafeteria but i decided i should give keto a shot and because there wasnt any keto food except pepperoni and cheese u can take to make a sandwich I settled with that and i ate pepperoni and cheese and some lettuce without any kind of bread and that officially was my first keto meal. The thing was i started eating even more food than ate before but it was all clean food eggs,meat,bacon,cheese,vegetables like spinach,cabbage etc.
First week passed and the results were already showing I dropped a few pounds! I read everything about keto so i knew that that was water weight leaving my body but in the absence of carbs but that still made me happy and gave me a confidence boost to continue with my journey and the next few week it just got better. I felt better, i had more energy, more mentally focused and cured from my heartburn for which i took a pill almost everyday and it was gone just like that.
Any results?
Yea i know, less than a month into this AMAZING lifestyle i changed and lost lot of weight. Subreddit keto helped a lot. I could ask any questions and get help, watch other people suceed and give myself even more boost, find amazing and delicious recipes like this one of my lunches for example
Its made of chicken breast filled with spinach and sprinkled with cheese that melts and paprika. Its super delicious and super easy to make and its 100% keto. One of my favorite keto meals.
That would mostly be it for now, I dont wanna bother you with anymore stories and details cause this is just an introduction but i am hoping to continue to write about my life and the rest of the of the journey and maybe even help someone who gets interested in this diet which is more a choice for a better and healtier lifestyle.
