Hi, my name is Carriad
I’m from England, and I want to introduce myself a little.
Firstly, I need to explain my picture...
The shoes are my wedding shoes from a few years ago (the brand is Irregular Choice in case anyone is wondering!).
The Rubik Cube is my own original cube that I’ve had since I was 17, which is why it looks pretty beat up. On a good day I can solve it in around 4.5 minutes.
The backdrop is today’s front page of The Times, with my signature.
I am a real person with a job, a husband and 9 year old son, but I’d rather stay facially anonymous on here, mainly for work reasons – I don’t want my boss or future bosses stumbling across anything that I may create on here. This gives me more creative freedom to talk about things I feel passionate about, without wondering if it might come back to bite me a couple of years down the line. I’m sure this applies to a LOT of other people on here too, so thanks for your understanding.
So, what am I into and why am I attracted to Steemit?
My background and training is in Experimental Psychology so my primary interest has always been people, society and consciousness. Above all, I’m interested in consciousness CHANGE. I believe it’s our only hope for progress on this little, fragile planet of ours.
Changing consciousness sounds grand and complicated, but it’s not. It only requires a change in perspective. Or, as Steemers like to call it – a paradigm shift.
Reading around some of the other intros and blogs on here, it’s inspiring to see so many others embracing and welcoming the idea of a paradigm shift. Although the focus round here is often on the economy and monetary system (wonder why?) I think that’s a HUGELY powerful place to start. I see a society’s economy as a crystallization of its belief system concerning things like hierarchy, power, what it considers valuable and what it considers disposable.
Start pulling at the threads of what makes up the economy (by introducing cryptocurrencies and alternative power structures) and you WILL be challenging the underlying consciousness that it represents.
OK, got a bit heavy there. So anyway, I’m planning on contributing some thought provoking material of my own, as well as enjoying and upvoting the contributions of the many amazing people on here.
Shift Peacefully,
Carriad
NEXT POST: I will explain how consciousness change relates to both shoes AND puzzles. Surely you want to hear that!?!
