In all honesty I had forgotten about signing up for Steemit since I randomly stumbled across it late one night and it took about a month for the approval. Well here I am now reaching out to the lot of you and sharing a bit about myself. My name is Jay, I'm 32 years old, and I reside in the Birmingham area of Alabama. While I do enjoy Alabama I’m not Bama born. Over twenty years of life spent on white sandy beaches deems me a native to Florida. That is a life long gone though.
Moving on...
Bar tending is what pays the bills these days and considering my Steemit name I “dabble” in different avenues of creativity. Some of which I’ve been able to monetize, but not consistent enough to rely on. Not sure if I could ever turn my creative life into a full work life. My schooling was focused on ceramics but over the years I’ve added to that a list of ventures. I dabble(d) in...
-hand lettering
-silk screening
-vector art/graphic design
-painting (aerosol mainly)
-ceramics
-glass forming/casting
-welding/metal casting/forging
-wood working
-gardening in soil/aquaponics/hydroponics
-home brewing/liquor infusions
-culinary cuisine/curing/pickling
-koji production
-Flatland BMX
One other I must note is recent and the reason I even know about Steemit, Audio Book production. A random youtube connected to that led me to Steemit. Anyways, All of those ventures I will leave for future posts so as not to drag on my introduction.
I was raised in a DIY family so it is ingrained in my personality to attempt something myself before turning to a service. That combined with my creativity is a powerful force when something intrigues me. I do find time to game but it isn't something I crave. That was more my teenage years when I would crush some time on Counter Strike. I do aim to travel when I can. Growing up my family camped across the US and a bit in Canada so Ive seen most of what the states have to offer. Recently I left the country for the first time and spent a week in Paris, France. I’m aiming to head to Lyon, Marseille, and Anncey coming this year. I’ve always liked France and out of any other foreign language I do know a bit of French...
Well it seems my cup has run dry... and now you know a bit about me and what to expect for future posts. I now will bid you adieu.
