Welcome to Steemit_Stories!
My name is E. M. Walker. I'm a Canadian living just outside Toronto, and I ABSOLUTELY love storytelling. It's an obsession. I carry A pocket notebook and my camera bag with me everywhere I go. I sleep with a pen and paper at arms reach and you'll never find me with a dead battery in my camera. I edit screenplays on my phone while waiting for coffee and often pull over to take pictures of stuff when I'm in my car - Like this corn at sunset.
I work as a Production Assistant and freelance as a Script / Story Consultant - Helping screenwriters (and novelists) hone their stories.
So what are you going to find here?
I'll be posting original short fiction accompanied by a handful of cinematic photos. Occasionally I'll post about film theories, Story structure, Screenwriting and the process of narrative film production. But a big part of my blog will be about sharing stuff I've shot (photos / video) along with the stories behind them. Like this one from my grandmothers wedding.
Years after loosing her spouse in a tragic accident involving a transport truck she met Rob, a truly sweet man who is constantly making her laugh. I was blessed not only to document their wedding day but also given the honour of walking her down the isle.
Or this one from out-front of my office. This is Dave and his deaf dog "Boo" they are homeless. Shelters wont let him bring her inside so he sleeps on the street to be wit her. Our office donated funds and got them a motel room for about 3 weeks last winter. Sadly I lost contact with him shortly after. I still think about him and Boo all the time. The dog was super sweet, she even knew sign language.
I've had 4 of my short film scripts produced, 3 of which are Curiosity Killed The Cat , Bill's Birthday Bash and SHADOWS - Feel free to check them out here! At some point in the future you'll see "Script to Screen" style posts breaking down each of my films.
Well I guess that about covers it for now. I'm so excited to meet people on the platform and share the things I love with them. Incase you were wondering I shoot on a Sony A7SII using 24,35 & 85mm Rokinon Cinema lenses. If you want to see a post about my gear let me know in the comments. Thanks for stopping by!
All the best!
