Hi Steemians,
Following the #introduceyourself tradition, here is mine:
I work in the #humanitarian disasters sector and have done so for the last eight years or so. I've worked in all continents except Europe and have worked for a range of different humanitarian organisations, from the #UN to big international NGOs to small little local organisations to government donors. I'm now working part-time for a big international #NGO, in my second year of my PhD, doing other odd bits of consultancies, looking after our daughter and supporting my amazing wife.
I got interested in all things blockchain in early 2015 but didn't really act on it other than reading a bunch and downloading a crypto wallet. Since early 2017 I've been more actively engaged, including blockchain in an aspect of my #PhD and helping the international NGO where I work actually test two different use cases of the technology.
I've finally pulled my finger out and dived deeper in to the blockchain world, thus this social media account.
I hope to engage with you all on a variety of interesting and fascinating topics including #disasters and their management around the world, academic #research and intellectual debates, and most importantly what blockchain can do for our variously messed up societies!!!
It's an honour and privilege to be involved in steemit and to be part of this emerging, influential and incredibly exciting community!
Cheers!!!
