Hello! Hi! MABUHAY! It's hanyabee on Hive!
My name’s Honey, a teacher, freelance photographer, and traveler. Beach sunsets or mountain sunsets, the sky, the horizon, and a wide field of grass always put me in awe as they always flatter my heart. I also make wedding invitations, offer photoshoots and accept printing as my little business. But most of the time, with guts and confidence, I prefer to travel with my motorbike to places I’ve never been to.
I’m hepped up to know more of the people, read blogs and express my thoughts in this community. Thanks to @callmesmile for introducing me to Hive. Finally, I have a spot where I could share my stories, travels, and a bit of my life.
(@callmesmile is my travel buddy, adviser, best friend, and sister. We both looked cool in this photo while on travel, right? :D)
My hobbies are like flowers and chocolates. They give me butterflies in my stomach. These are some:
Into the Lens
My love for photography grew when I was young. When I was in college, I always borrowed my aunt’s DSLR camera because I believed there is something when I click the shutter button and put my eyes on the eyepiece. Until then, I promised to work hard and get myself a camera to continue the passion I have that is raging with fire. I obtained my first camera in 2018 which I named “Kiss”, and the second was named “Dee” and I named the third one “Rumi”.
Because of these cameras, I was able to keep memories in good photos, do photoshoots like weddings, birthdays and pre-debuts, and prenups, and capture the special moments in my life. I am thrilled to learn to pursue a new genre of photography in Hive.
The amazing fact about this passion of mine: I was the one who took the prenup photos of my sister and brother before they got me married. Amazing, right? They put all their trust in me and guess what? Of course, I gave my best, and was a good venture for me to attract new clients. And I am at the right place, HIVE! I want to learn more from here.
Killing by Editing
Editing is like killing a photo and making it live again. I just love editing. It started when I saw a photo of a friend which I see differently. Because of that, I began searching for mobile apps that will enhance every photo I have. I could spend my time until midnight just to edit a photo. Editing to me is like giving another perspective of emotions to the audience. And it’s not just like that, when I enhanced the photo, it’s like giving me more reasons to capture more and travel more. Lol.
Euphoria for sunsets
I always believed that sunsets are the beginnings of something that has ended and skies are connected with those beginnings. These two bring comfort and remedy when I am distressed, demotivated, or have a tiring day. It felt rewarding when I witness the sun that is about to set. My go-to place to watch the sunset is by the beach which is 20 minutes away from school. When I have a bad day, I just drive going to that place and sit for an hour to relieve my stress. It never failed to amaze me. I can’t wait to share with you my collection of sunsets that I have.
These are some of my sunset collections.
Getting lost through traveling
I super love traveling. Of course, who doesn’t? Going to different places, near or far, an island or a mountain gives a whole different kind of feeling. Before the pandemic hit, I had the chance to explore and enjoy many places. It all changed when the world faced the crisis. Even so, I was still able to do the things I love, like climbing mountains and joy rides to near places, and witnessing sunsets.
Secret tips for low-budget travels: If you want to look chic and fabulous in your travel photos, you can look for thrift clothes (Ukay) that fit your itinerary. Second, bring the foods you have at home. Surely, You can save and at the same time, enjoy your time.
Touching lives by Teaching
I started teaching five years ago. It was when I discovered that I have a passion other than teaching. I joined spoken poetry at school where I won the first prize. Since then, I started to put my thoughts into words. I also gained confidence in hosting events and ceremonies. I never thought I would be good at it. I just knew they trusted me and that I could. Lastly, through teaching, I felt I always go for traveling as the distance from home to school is quite far. With my “Lilo” (my motorcycle), I come to pass by a wide field of grass, a road that’s full of trees, and a sunset after work going home.
Auntie-ing kiddos
Being surrounded by a big family, it is expected to have lots of kids at home. And being the only single unmarried daughter at home, taking care of my nieces and nephew has become the diversion of my free time. The kids call me “Daday”, and I tell you, it sounds like a sweet song to me. I am not sure I am their favorite but I am sure that I loved them so much. Spoiling them with candies, chocolates, toys, and cuddles is my act of love. They like me singing and dancing for them. And I have free subjects for my portrait photography. And I could not ask for more, I feel like being a mother but single and free.
Small Side Gig for Big Dreams
Big things come from small ones. A bit part of my heart beats for business. I started my printing business 4 years ago. At first, my intention was just to help my neighbors with their printing concerns. Until someone asked me if can take them a photo for ID and it went on and bigger. Then I made use of my printer by accepting wedding invitations. Well, I also want to craft this artistic part of me. Doing this side gig is a win-win for me. I earn a little, helped and assisted people, and develop more of the art. This year, I manifest a bigger business and open my studio for my passion.
I describe myself as an adventurous, easy-go-lucky, and risk-taker person. I am thrilled about where blogging can take me.
That's it for my intro blog guys! I'm excited to give you a "zoom-in" on my passions and the wonderful things I do!
Thanks for reading this far. See you very soon on my future blogs. I wish you all well. Keep safe everyone and have a great day!
