Hey there!
My name is Mandi and I am new to the platform, but I have heard a lot of good things! Can't wait to meet you!

That's me!
I am so excited to get started on the Steem platform because it sounds like there is a definite trend being set here. I remember back in the day thinking that FaceBook wouldn't be a thing, but all of my friends were going over there and abandoning their MySpace. Then, I wasn't too concerned because I don't think I really understood what the long term impact of social media and how it would reshape business and life as we know it. This sort of feels like that, so when my friends told me to try it, I coudn't resist!
Why I'm Here
These guys. Seriously, my world and I want this place to be better for them as they get older!
The other reason I am on Steem is because this is a really exciting time for me. I am from Boise and spent most of my life in this town. It's not too big, not too small... Just the way I like it. Recently, I moved back from the east coast after being gone for a year and life is just settling down. I recently started a new business venture and am working on becoming more independent. I do hope that Steem can help me with this and I'm sure you'll hear ALL about my adventures in business.
Good Life Project
I watched a video that talked about the difference between "coin pushers" and entrepreneurs. Coin pushers tend to do a little bit and then a little bit more and then a little more. Their work is stop and go. They put a lot of work into it. As for the entrepreneurs they have to work hard from the beginning and they build a residual income. I'm a single mom and I totally feel for others out there that are struggling and trying to make it on their own. This video really resonated with me because it hit me in a spot that I know that I am not alone in feeling.
You can see it here.
The reason I share this is because it has really inspired me to reach beyond myself and while I have always wanted to do something awesome it seemed like I never had the time. Who does though?
A relative, who owns a local business, has a positive tag line and message. He always puts it on his emails and he is an inspiration. Maybe I can get him on here too? ;)
In any case, I took his example and started thinking about what I wanted and what I felt that I was capable of giving back to my community, that could also help me to sustain an income to take care of my children, to live a life that I wanted to lead and what would I be proud to say that I do? In thinking about this, I decided that ultimately, I want what we all do... a Good Life.

Community is Valuable
I am motivated to take an active part in my community, both here on Steem and locally. Some of my favorite endeavors that I have participated in the last few years include our local Goddess festival, a community involved initiative to get the awareness out there for our local pagans and occult businesses, groups and more.
One thing about a small town is that there isn't always a lot available for those that are spiritual in a way that is not mainstream. Goddess Festival allows us to show support and also to get stocked up on tools, which is also handy.
Additionally, I have done Race for the Cure.
As a woman with a daughter, that has been effected by breast cancer, I am passionate about the cause of breast cancer and ensuring that every woman gets the opportunity to be healthy and not scared about the future simply because of gender.
YOU ARE VALUABLE
I have lived a blessed life in many ways, but there have been hard times too. We've all been here and it's no fun.
That being said, I KNOW that there is something better and I am committed to helping myself and all of us in finding that good life.
I decided that I had to do it on my own. I know it will be hard work, but I also know it is worth it.
So, that's me. I can't wait to share more.
In the mean time, I want to leave you with my own adopted theme song to get those good vibes going.
Good life indeed!
Do you have a theme song you would like to invoke for your life? I'd love to hear it! Share it with me and say hello!

A final thought, because I wasn't sure where in here to put it. I would like to say thanks to @RumDancer, @Art.Gaming.Magick and @PrudishNudist. Without their help, I wouldn't be here. They are part of my village and success. We do this together because none of us are alone really, ever. So, thank you guys for having faith in me and encouraging me here!
