in the half light this morning i woke to the sound of trees calling me to "walk" they said, "walk to the gardens". after hurriedly dressing like a mad thing, i meandered up wide dusty streets, across a perfectly round football field, along a tree-lined lane until the thick canopy came into view. then stumbled across a dry creek bed to the edge of the botanical gardens.
i wanted to clear my head. i have been in turmoil, discombobulated about this "spooky crypto" world of blockchain, cryptocurrency, bitcoin, nerds and geeks. wondering how i could fit into it, being so fond of communing with flesh-and-blood folks, yet finding most of them so burnt-out, commercialised, new-aged or half dead. it was disconcerting. how could i be so in love with outerspace, this new CrytpoSpace when it is so "against nature"*%^#@?>*&%%??and i remembered how right this outer space world seemed when reading the Steem White Paper. how dan feels the way i feel. and more practically, how he has found a way to enable goodness in sustainable ways that i never yet have, despite my years on this planet, scurrying to be useful and true. dan has become one of my heroes.
though i cannot understand most of what the Steem White Paper is talking about. but i really want to. i made audio files from the Steemit White Paper so that i could listen - and multiple times. i understand more each time i listen. feel free to download audio files from my account at box.
i first heard about steemit from @stellabelle or @connecteconomy or diddy or @subspaced or @saikababii or one of the gals in #women_of_dash in Dash Nation Slack. @stellabelle suggested that i write stuff in Medium in addition to or instead of blogging on my website bitcoin4gals. so i did. i created the publication "Spooky Crypto". our experiences as spooked-newbies in the CyptoSphere. i am open to your stories for this publication. as a spooked-newbie, or memories of being a spooked-newbie, please feel very welcome to recommend your own story or other’s for consideration in "Spooky Crypto".
what can i write about here in Steemit? my forays into buying cryptocurrency? life, love, anarchy, home education, radical unschooling, food growing, cell rejuvenation? my professional experience as anthropologist, gestalt trainer, soil consultant, artist, teacher? all seems welcome here. how wonderful!
whilst still a new member in #women_of_dash, @stellabelle enthused about steemit - that it is the place to contribute and have fun. so i dashed on over here and jumped in with glee. and have been voraciously reading and commenting and upvoting for four weeks or so. i have bantered with @brian-rhodes, @condra, @ullsgpir, @lukestokes, @mindhunter, @ericvancewalton and @pertiqoues. am delighted to receive an award from @steemitboard.
i have been appreciated and upvoted by @barrydutton, @singa, @sasagood, @juanmora, @knarly327, @connecteconomy, @alicabanana, @stellabelle, @happyme, @dhenz, @vamosrafa, @atomica, @lazariko12, @steemmaster, @julieddd, @radlerjan, @aggroed, @inna-yatsuk, @fyrstikken and many others. have found fellow women, home educators, gardeners, vegans, lovers of life and hoping to find fruitbats.

the trees soon sorted me out. they reminded me of all the goodness that i have found on Steemit. that this creepy online world is where real flesh-and-blood folks are fast and furiously encouraging each other, working together, meeting up with each other, forming partnerships, creating communities. is it really possible?
steemit is like no other place on earth! i am so glad to be here. still spooked, yet a little less.
hello fellow steemians! bless us all!

My main reason for entering cryptospace is to earn an online reputation to find online supporters, to to create a Steemit sub-community to onboard the existing offline communities in my fields of endeavour. the idea is to match up inexperienced hobby-farmer landowners (with underused or waste land) with the hundreds (possibly thousands) of experienced and landless organic food growers and land regenerators and their kin who are looking for security of tenure for re-invigoration of freedom villages.
